However, it's not just inside where you can gather — the adjoining walled garden is a thing of beauty, perfect for having a barbecue or just enjoying a quiet moment in and among the blooming foliage, including an apple tree centrepiece. When you fancy exploring the UK's capital, the vintage markets and brunch spots of Portobello Road can be reached in half an hour on foot, while you can get to Hampstead Heath in the same amount of time on the tube.
