Right by the Mendip Hills, a certified Area of Outstanding Beauty, and a five-minute drive from the town of Cheddar – famed for it's epic gorge as well as a certain cheese – it's one of the recently built, state-of-the-art lodges on a complex in a pretty, rural spot. With a feeling of seclusion and views over the hills, you might forget you're conveniently close to the shops and restaurants of the town.
Steering clear of the traditional style of lodge homes, this place is chic and glamorous, with contemporary timber cladding, a glossy black kitchen and comfy, modern furnishings. We love the L-shaped deck, where you'll find your private hot tub and a secret covered area which comes into its at night – just wait until you switch on the starlight roof. But there's even more to love indoors, with a cosy log burner for winter stays and a fabulous bathroom with a big, freestanding bath and a walk-in rainfall shower. Perfect for couples, this place is great if you're a fan of country walks and moonlit dips (and who isn't?).
