The crisp colour scheme creates a soothing ambiance, which makes you forget that you're in the centre of a capital city – but the bustling thoroughfare of Rue de Dunkerque is right outside. If you're arriving by train, then you'll be glad to know that the Gare du Nord is just two minutes away, while the Gare de l'Est is less than ten minutes away on foot, so you won't have far to carry your luggage. The surrounding area is busy with both locals and visitors who are simply passing through, and you'll find plenty of places to grab a bite to eat or some culinary supplies. A fifteen-minute walk will bring you to the cobbled hills of Montmartre, where you can take a step back in time and visit the iconic Sacré-Cœur. Meanwhile, a fifteen-minute walk in the other direction brings you to the exciting Canal Saint-Martin and its waterside bars and restaurants. And if you hop on the métro you can arrive at many of the city's landmarks, such as the Louvre Museum and the Pompidou Centre, in less than twenty minutes.
