An old sea captain’s house, this mansion of a villa sits in the postcard-perfect town of Oia. This is perhaps Santorini’s most photogenic town, where the classic blue-domed buildings cascade down the hillside towards the sea. Streets here are packed with luxury boutiques and fine dining restaurants with caldera views.
Head back to your villa for a front-row seat to Santorini’s famous sunsets over the Aegean Sea. The balustraded terrace feels as though it’s suspended above the ocean, jutting out from the hillside. Recline on a lounger, or settle into lavish outdoor lounges and watch the boats drift by below. Or, spend the day soaking in the Jacuzzi on the shaded lower terrace. Breakfast is included and can be taken outdoors at the long dining table, with a side helping of caldera views.
Inside, rooms with traditional vaulted ceilings and white-stone walls are made grand with gilded mirrors and billowing white curtains. Hand-carved furnishings feel fit for a 19th-century sea captain in the sunny living room and you can picture him poring over navigation charts at the antique desk in the office area. Barrel-vaulted bedrooms are a nod to island traditional architecture and thick stone walls keep things blissfully cool come bedtime.
