Summer in Kefalonia is best spent outdoors. At this particular villa, you'll find landscaped gardens, a private pool, loungers, an alfresco dining area with seating for four people and a balcony that simply calls out for a fresh Greek coffee. Swim a couple of leisurely laps before picking out a daybed for a serious tanning session, listening to nothing but the gentle sound of the sea breeze rustling through the surrounding trees. This one's a real oasis of calm.
Inside, you'll find an open-plan living space with timber-framed ceilings and large patio doors that creates a light and airy atmosphere. We particularly love the country-style kitchen, complete with olive-green cabinets, artistic hanging lamps and marble worktops. The sociable space allows you to cook for your guests while conversing over a glass of Assyrtiko. Glide seamlessly into the living area, where traditional pieces of art adorn the walls and a wood-burning stove keeps things extra cosy.
While you could easily spend the entire day hanging out at this achingly gorgeous villa, take some time to explore the local area. Drive to Eblisis Bay in just five minutes and stretch out on the soft sands, paddle in the shallows and admire the natural beauty of this unspoilt landscape.
