One of mid-century mastermind Frank Lloyd Wright's favourite additions, clerestory windows, are set well above eye level to maximise every available beam. When the heat of the summer starts to fade, a large open fire makes for cosy nights with friends and family, adding a welcoming atmosphere to meals in the elevated dining room that overlooks the space.
The villa boasts not one but three cosy seating areas – enough for one per bedroom – while outside, there's a Zen patio and relaxing Thai house that's perfect for a spot of morning meditation. If you prefer your mindfulness a little more green-fingered, help yourself to organic vegetables from the garden or pick fruit straight off the trees in the orchard.
Back to the sea-facing side, you'll find a raised terrace with more seating, a full wet bar, and a barbecue. From here, you can relax with views over the pool and croquet lawn towards the Med.
With the sea so close you can taste it, you won't have to travel far for a day at the beach. Playa de Carvajal and Playa de Santa Ana are two of the sandier stretches nearby, no more than ten minutes away. At the same time, you'll discover secluded coves and pebble beaches are even closer. Then, for a spot of culture, drive 25km into the vibrant city of Malaga.
