Located right near where the border separates Spain from France, this rough-stone home stands tall in all its rustic charm – and if you think the facade is attractive, just wait until you take a look inside. Continuing on with the mix of natural stone and timber, this modernised living space exemplifies comfort with a wood-burning stove, soft lighting, and a sofa you can sink into. Curl up here after you’ve kindled a fire and let time be the last thing on your mind as you finally get to the book of poetry you’ve been meaning to read for the longest time. Get lost in the pages until lunch where you can take to the compact kitchenette to prepare light bites, or head out to one of the local eateries if you’re not in the mood to cook.
On the upper floor you’ll find generous bedrooms and a bathroom, but it’s the room that opens out on the balcony that you’ll want to call your own for the duration of your stay. It not only has ample space and light, but we bet you can already see yourself standing on the balcony with a cup of coffee at sunrise. It’s also, coincidentally, the perfect location for a bit of last minute stargazing before turning in for the night.
The area, as you’ll be able to determine from the view, is inescapably beautiful and you can admire some of the natural wonders by hiking the trails in the area. Baqueira Beret, the nearest ski lift, is just over 18 miles away and Luchon Golf Course is just under 6 miles.
