Welcome to the casa of Mirta y Rainer. We are a friendly Cuban- German family with 4 Grandchildren and two grown-up daughters living nearby. If you are openminded and interested in cuban Lifestyle (Cigars, Rum), cuban culture '(Music, Dance, Arquitecture) and/ or politics stay with us - we like to share! We speak Spanish and a little English and German, Rainer is now in Germany, but manages the house and questions from there,he speaks good English and native German. You can write to Rainer in German or English any time. . we offer a big breakfast with eggs, cheese, ham, salad, fruits , homemade fruitjuce, Yoghurt, bread , butter, cafe/tea, jam etc for 5 CUC each on request we serve lunch and/or dinner, a glas of rum and a cigar (extra charge) We provide a taxi service to pick you up at the airport. Or we can give you some advice how to get to our house save and easy. We also can mediate a Salsa teacher.

I had a great time here. Clean house, good breakfast, perfectly located. It couldn't of been a better experience! I miss my Cuban family already !!

Rainer wasn't there during our stay in Havanna, but his lovely wife was. The breakfast costs 5CUC per person per day, but it was very good and sufficiant. It was possible to use the kitchen. Mirta is a very friendly and delightful woman, who took care of us. The casa is in Centro Havanna, but very near to the malecon and also very close to Havanna Vieja.

***ENLGISH VERSION BELOW*** Alles in allem ein super Aufenthalt bei Mirta :) Nach der Buchungsanfrage hat Rainer uns bereits nach kurzer Zeit geantwortet. Er war sehr hilfsbereit und hat uns mit wichtigen Informationen versorgt. Bei unserer Ankunft im Casa hat Mirta schon auf uns gewartet. Das klimatisierte Zimmer (1 x 90cm breites Bett und 1 x 140 cm breites Bett) und das direkt angrenzende Bad waren sehr sauber. Genügend Handtücher und Bettwäsche wurden für uns bereit gestellt. Alle 2 Tage wurde das Zimmer und das Bad grob gesäubert, das Bett gemacht und die Handtücher gewechselt. Das Frühstück bestand aus Rührei oder Omlett, Schinken, Käse, Marmelade, Tee, Kaffee, Brötchen und einem Obstteller. Jeden Morgen wurden wir mit einem anderen frischen Obstsaft überrascht. Wir haben Mirta darauf hingewiesen, dass wir vegan essen und haben daraufhin anstatt Wurst und Käse Gemüse bekommen. Zum Zeitpunkt unseres Besuchs war Rainer leider nicht da. Mirta spricht nur Spanisch aber mit meinen Grundkenntnissen und "Händen und Füßen" war das überhaupt kein Problem. Die Lage des Casas ist sehr gut! In maximal 5 Minuten ist man am Malecon (Uferpromenade) und in 5-10 Minuten direkt in Alt Havanna (Capitolio). Kleiner Tipp: Die besten Daiquiris der Stadt gibt es (unserer Meinung nach) bei Castropol am Malecon, auch wenn sie ca 1 CUC teurer sind als in anderen Bars (max. 10min Entfernung) und leckeres, etwas ausgefalleneres Essen als die restlichen kubanischen Speisen gibt es im Restaurant C&T (Straße Galiano). Trotz der recht zentralen Lage ist das Schlafzimmer ruhig (bis auf ein paar krähende Hähne :D). Die Abreise lief auch problemlos, Mirta hat für uns ein Taxi organisiert. Insgesamt haben wir uns sehr wohl gefühlt und würden immer wieder in Havanna in dem Casa von Mirta und Rainer wohnen :) **** We enjoyed our stay at Mirta and Rainer's Casa. The taxi driver at the airport had no problems finding the house after we gave him the adress given by Rainer. Mirta already awaited us and there was no delay getting in the room. The air condotioned room and bathroom were clean and enough towels and bedsheets were provided. The room was cleaned every 2 days and towels were changed. The breakfast consisted of an omlett , bread , ham& cheese, jam, fresh fruits ( seasonal ) and tea/coffee or delicious fresh juice. Mirta only speaks spanish however she has a warm personality so communication should not be a problem. The casa has a great location with the Malecon (broadwalk) max. 5 minutes foot walk and the old Havanna center max. 10 minutes walk away. Besides that are several restaurants in the neighborhood of the casa. Overall we really enjoyed staying at Mirta's and would completely recommend the Casa to everyone :) Liebe Grüße y salduos, Olivia & Michael <3

It was happy experience to stay at Rainer's. The location is perfect, in Central Havana near Malecon, Prado Promenade, and Old Town, close to most historic & tourists sites, so that I could walk to many museums, galleries, cultural activities like ballet, music concerts, art exhibitions, as well as take a walk every morning & evening along Malecon seafront sidewalk watching beautiful sunset. The host is sincere, knowledgeable, highly cultured, and extremely helpful to supply so much precious tourist information. The residential area is spacious, with privacy & comfortability. I enjoyed the sky, sunshine, and breeze, through windows and over the neighbor's roof. The breakfasts were excellent and I also took lunches & dinners occasionally. However kitchen & fridge were conveniently available, even though I did not cook during my stay. Since the air-condition was efficient, I was able to take rest comfortably & sleep peacefully.

Rainer and Mirta were very welcoming, and helpful in advance of our arrival. Mirta prepares a lovely breakfast and Rainer advised on taxis, things to do, and best practices. The room and bathroom were comfortable and clean. Thank you both for a great stay!

A perfect place in Havana; close to Malecon and the Havana Vieja. They picked us up at the airport, gave us good food (breakfast and dinner), and were very helpful. I will recommend this place to those going to Havana.
