I can not recommend this place. There was an appointment by phone shortly before. There were a few apartments at the given address, but nobody knew Rosa there. Total flop. Pity about the commission and the unnecessary time.

We were 3 girls staying at Carmens home (a.k.a Rosa, Carmens sister). The homestay was exactly as the pictures shown. It was clean and cozy. Located in a not tourist part of central Havana which was nice because it was local and cheaper prices on food. Carmen are a great host, she doesn't speak much english but with little spanish and lots of sign language it went great. She's very helpful and took good care of us as if we were her children. Would recommend any traveler to stay here cuz it's a true Cuban experience.

? L'hôte vous laisse seul dans un appartement où personne ne vit mais interdit quiconque que vous d'entrer car elle n'a confiance en personne (pas même vous puisque elle prendra les clefs de votre chambre si vous la fermez à clef) ?Décevant.. pas d'eau chaude le premier soir car la hôte avait coupé le gaz. Le deuxième soir la gazinière branlante sentais le gaz sans y avoir touché (fuite ?) ?Le 3eme et 4eme soir elle m'a recommandé son neuveux "Papucho" pour sortir et être: 1) mon taxi 2) prof de salsa 3) guide touristique 4) compagnon de soirée (étant seul) Tout ça pour 50 euros (2 soirs) Problèmes: 1) il n est jamais entré avec moi car il ne voulais pas payer l'entrée (5€) ou n'était pas habillé correctement pour pouvoir rentrer 2) il m'a donc servi uniquement de taxi entre 1h et 30 min de retard à chaque fois 3) pour info, à ce prix là vous pouvez louer une voiture pour 2 jours. Sachant par la suite que les taxis collectif sont à 1€ le trajet.. Et les bus à 40 centimes..

The hosts were very welcoming; the guy talks English, but the woman doesn't. Wasn't a problem for us. Clean room. Breakfast was not the best though, would skip it. Good location, able to walk to all the highlights. Not a touristy area, so you can find cheap (peso)food. There's also a really good restaurant closeby called Doña Alicia (right next to Parque de la Santa Varela). For just $3 you can have a great meal + drink here, but it does get really crowded sometimes so come early! If it's to busy, the restaurant also does takeaway next door. In general a good stay!

Good location close to the main attractions but not in a touristy neighbourhood. Rosa’s nephew really gave us some good information about interesting places to go to. A good experience.
