This remarkable home dates back to the late 19th century but a quick tour will quickly show you that there have been a number of changes made in the ensuing years. For starters, the large swimming pool is a relatively recent addition – and a welcome one, at that – as is the huge Jacuzzi in its own separate annexe. There's a contemporary sleekness to the kitchen and bathrooms in the main house, as well.
That being said, a certain sense of heritage has been expertly retained during the recent refurbishment and there's an undeniable character in the exposed stonework, wooden ceiling beams and the elegant staircase that takes you up to the bedrooms. The tall verandah complete with a barbecue, alfresco dining table and views of the Andalusian countryside through the archways is an impressive feature, too.
Although the surrounding area feels peaceful, there are a pair of towns –Alhaurin el Grande and Alhaurin de la Torre – that both lie about 5km from the home. Torremolinos's sandy beach is a 15km-journey, while there are plenty of golf courses and prime hiking terrain to be discovered nearby.
