The location of Hideaway Estate is both semi-rural and very convenient: situated on the Canto da Lagoa, 2 km outside of the iconic town of Lagoa da Conceicao. The fenced and gated private condominium of over 4.000 m2 is situated on a series of three hills overlooking a saltwater lake that connects with the sea and distant sand dunes. The compound is quiet, gently terraced with an abundance of flowering shrubs and many of the original trees and coffee plants from its time as a coffee plantation. Verdant hills covered in Mata Atlantica, stunning in the diversity of botanical plants and trees, cradle the property on 3 sides. The views across the lake are exceptional, everchanging and endlessly inspiring awe and wonder. The sunrises in front of the property, facing east, are very delicate and pretty. Fishing boats putter quietly over the lake at dawn as families of birds wake up the island. Paddle boarders and kayakers glide silently around the edge of the shore, fully immersed with the early morning wonders of nature. Moon sightings are also very close and dramatic as are cloud formations and weather patterns that travel over the sea and lake. It is truly a privileged, paradisical place to live surrounded by exotic nature: every day of the year brings flowers. From colorful birds, including families of residential Toucans, butterflies, monkeys and blue lizards; the variety of co-existing wildlife here is extraordinary. During the summer there is occasional boat activity and water sport on the lake. The marina which is a 4-minute drive along the Canto is also a very convenient as it makes the boating lifestyle totally accessible. As Florianopolis is subtropical, we have 4 distinct seasons including a winter, that never gets as cold as Europe of the USA. The island remains green in all seasons as the rain falls regularly.

The center part of Florianopolis is extremely advantageous for schools, the airport, universities, hospitals and the city center. The Canto is very convenient with a good restaurant and some shops; is also close to facilities in Lagoa da Conceicao. The roads and pavements have all been freshly reconstructed and asphalted so the main access road in front of the property is in extremely good condition. The nearest beach, 4-km away is Joaquina, famous for its surfing waves. Close by are the world-renowned beach centers of Praia Mole and Barra da Lagoa.There are an abundance of 41 beaches, lakes and waterfalls through the island and a lot of very interesting trails along cliffs and forests to remote beaches and communities. For the last 20 years, the island of Florianopolis has been voted the best place to live in Brazil. It remains so not only for its beauty but also because it is well ordered and safe. It is an island with one main bridge to the continent with a relaxed environment that has shown very little crime or aggression. Santa Catarina in general is officially the safest state in Brazil. It also has some of the best Engineering universities in Brazil as the connection to Germany, the original colonizers of Santa Catarina state, stayed very strong for the people who populated the south of Brazil. It also has a very well run, modern airport which has some direct connections internationally. Many people live between Miami or Portugal and Florianopolis. There is also a major bus station 15 km away in the city center that goes to many destinations in Brazil. Once inside the well-situated property of the Hideaway Estate, you can in fact do that, hide away, it’s very spacious, quiet and private. Although there are 4 houses, they are well spaced out andwere reformed with privacy in mind for Airbnb rental.
